Origami heart

1. Fold bottom left corner to top right corner, crease then unfold.
**Terminology: Valley fold along diagonal, then unfold**

2. Fold bottom right corner to top left corner, crease then unfold. At this point you should have a square with an X mark crease.
**Terminology: Valley fold along diagonal, then unfold (creates diagonal crease pattern or "X" base preparation)**

3. Rotate your square 45 degrees so it looks like a diamond.
**Terminology: Rotate 45 degrees (standard orientation change)**

4. Now bring the top corner down so its tip touches the center of the diamond. Crease the fold.
**Terminology: Valley fold corner to center**

5. Bring the bottom corner up so its tip touches the center of the top edge. Crease the fold.
**Terminology: Valley fold corner to edge**

6. Fold the right half of the bottom edge and line it up with the vertical center axis
**Terminology: Valley fold edge to centerline**

7. Repeat step 6 for the left side of the bottom edge. The paper should be symmetrical along the vertical axis and start to resemble a heart shape.
**Terminology: Valley fold edge to centerline (creates symmetrical kite-like shape)**

8. Flip the project over 180 degrees along the vertical axis so the top face of the project is away from you and facing the table
**Terminology: Turn over (flip model) - note: previous valley folds now appear as mountain folds from this side**

9. Fold the top left point of what looks like a triangle down so it's flush with the top edge of the horizontal main fold. The triangle should now be a trapezoid.
**Terminology: Valley fold corner down to create rounded edge (or mountain fold from original side's perspective)**

10. Repeat step 9 for the triangle on the right
**Terminology: Valley fold corner down (creates symmetrical rounded edge)**

11. Fold the point on the right side of the project so that it creates a triangle whose bottom edge creates a right angle with the bottom edge of the top left trapezoid
**Terminology: Valley fold corner to create angled edge**

12. Repeat step 11 for the point on the left side of the project.
**Terminology: Valley fold corner (creates symmetrical angled edge)**

13. Flip the project 180 degrees along the vertical axis to reveal the final heart shape
**Terminology: Turn over to reveal finished model**
